My name is Mary AKA Bay Explorer. I was born and raised in the Bay Area. As a kid I went on many adventures around the Bay with my mom, schools, summer camps, and friends that helped me gain a cumulative knowledge of the area & the many places to go with children. I also run an in-home daycare/ homeschool program that goes on weekly field trips, I am also the proud momma of 3 daughters- so I'm literally always out exploring with kids.

 

As a mom & teacher I believe in getting kids away from the TV and out of the house as much as possible. Unplug from the TV and the programming that it is feeding your child's brain. No kid ever remembers their best day of watching TV, but they'll carry with them forever the memories of fun experiences you share together!

 

Bay Explorer started because I wanted to create a resource to encourage other families to get out of the house & into the world. I want to show families you don't have to have a ton of money to make your children happy and have fun- just spend time & be present with them. Being present is the best present you can give your child.

 

We are very lucky to live in the Bay Area where there is a plethora of activities, amusements, and outdoors galore to explore. I have compiled a list of the many fun places my family has visited, in hopes that it will awaken the adventurous spirit in your family!
