My vision is to inspire families of all backgrounds to explore, be present, and have fun with their children in the Bay Area.

Monthly Freebies

There is so much to do and see in the Bay Area. There are a ton of fun places to take your kids. All that running around and taking your kids to fun places can sometimes leave your pockets feeling stretched. There is another way to enjoy these iconic Bay Area spots though- keep track of their FREE days. That's right almost all of the fun spots to take your kids that cost money also have FREE days, you just have to know where to look. So I'm gonna give you the monthly/ yearly run down. Plus you can click on the title and be connected to their full page on my website...

Marine Mammal Center. The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito offers two FREE days a month. Every second and forth Sunday. They are having one today! It is your chance to learn about the animals they rescue there and you can even see a few from the viewing deck!

Bay Area Discovery Museum. This is one of my favorite places to take my kids! So much to see, do, and discover! So many hands on activities and outdoor engagement areas. It can get kind of expensive visiting here with tickets ranging from $13 to $15 but every first Wednesday of the month they offer FREE admission to everyone!!!

San Francisco Botanical Gardens. These grounds are so beautiful and breathtaking. Kids will have fun smelling flowers, chasing squirrels, and stomping in the leaves. You can get in here FREE daily from 7am-9pm or the second Tuesday of every month is FREE! Plus some holidays are free too like Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

Free San Francisco Museum Days: Legion of Honor, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, De Young Museum, Contemporary Jewish Museum, and Museum of Art and Design are all FREE the first Tuesday of the month every month. So you can go to a new museum every month for FREE!

Oakland Museum: Oakland Museum is home of some of the most California & Oakland based exhibits you will ever see. They also host FREE community days every first Sunday of the month. It is a great chance to see what exhibits are new without having to pay.

UC Botanical Gardens: The Cal Campus has some very beautiful walking grounds at the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens. It is also a little costly to get in at $12 for adults and $7 for kids. But every first Wednesday of the month they offer FREE admission all day.

California Academy of Sciences: This place is so fun and also really costly! So much for children to see including the planetarium, aquarium, and the rain forest. The Academy has quarterly FREE days. The last one was in February so the next one they are going to have will be a three day FREE fest in September in celebration of their 10 year anniversary- so keep a watch on my website and I will alert the public when the days are set.

Exploratorium: The Exploratorium in San Francisco has been a staply in children's learning and discovery for as long as I can remember. So many hands on activities for children to learn by touching and doing. They off multiple FREE days a year, here are the ones on the 2018 calendar: 3/14, 5/13, 9/22, 10/21

Museums for all: Many discovery museums participate in the Museums for all program. This means if you have a EBT card or are enrolled in WIC you can get into the following museums FREE or for $1 per family member: Bay Area Discovery Museum, Cal Academy of Sciences, Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose, Chabot Space and science Center, Exploratorium, Habitot, Lawrence Hall of Science, and the Oakland Museum.
