Description: The information listed above is the main gate information but trails and wooded areas can be accessed all over the place. You can literally pull over on the road almost anywhere and access an entry point to the regional park. I like to park at Chabot Space Center and go in and then go for a walk or vice versa. The wooded forest area around the park is beautiful! A perfect place for hiking with your little ones as well as furry companions! There are many trails to choose from and the paths diverge in many different directions. I like to let my 6 year old be the leader and choose which path to take, gives her a good sense of trusting herself and a chance to take the lead and give directions. Dogs have ample space to amble, sniff, and meet a new friend dog. Some parts of paths have nice look outs over the trees and valleys. There are many different paths to choose from making it new and fun each time you go for a walk. Just remember where you came from so you can make it back before nightfall, once it gets dark up there, there are not much in the way of lights to guide you!
Highlights: These regional woods are accessible from many points, so you will see people pulled over on the side of the road- which means there are people around so you don't feel too desolate and also you know there are LOTS of different options for paths!
Tips: Park at Chabot Space and Science Center and go visit it and take walk in the forest and make a day out of it!
