Description: I was first introduced to Liba Falafel because they used to have a truck outside the Grand Lake Farmers Market that I used to pile up their salad bar high in my bowl every weekend. That truck eventually disappeared but in my curiosity to find out where they had gone I stumbled upon their restaurant in downtown Oakland. To say that I love this place and their salads is an understatement. To say that this place is tricky to get to is also an understatement! I love Liba Falafel! They have the best salad bar as far as I am concerned in the Bay Area. Their falafel's are fried to a golden crisp and you can pile high the salad options in your bowl as much as you can squeeze in. My two year old will literally eat 6 falafel balls without batting an eye! And mmmm are their salad options delicious! So sweet and savory and yummy. To say that getting here is difficult is also the understatement of the year! First of all they have weird hours where they are only catering to the downtown Oakland lunch crew which makes up for a ton of their patrons I'm sure. So they are only open during the week and from 11-3pm so it is a very tight window getting in there. Next it is downtown Oakland so parking is abysmal! I have circled for 25 minutes trying to find a parking space that is close. Both of these issues make it difficult to get to Liba, but if you can it is sure worth it!

Highlights: Get the salad bar! There are other options but only this option let's you choose what you want and as much of it as you want as well.

Tips: Parking is difficult around there, if you can take Bart if you have any other reason to go to the area. If not just circle til you find something. Also James and the Giant Cupcake is just down the street if you want a tasty treat after =-)
