Description: This is what is referred to as "glamping" aka glamorous camping. This campground has it all! An on-site restaurant, spa with massage packages, horse back riding, bike expeditions, bbq, live bands, children's activities, and on certain weekends a rock climbing wall and hamster ball for kids. Plus there are real bathrooms with showers! A fire pit where you can roast marshmallows, and a sauna. You can either bring your own tent and pitch it in their various fields, and still use all of their amenities. Or you can rent one of their tent cabins- which are really nice. They have hard wood floors with a tent topper. Each tent cabin has real beds for comfort. The campground is a short walk to the nearby beach, with fine soft sands. There are horses for riding on-site (child must be 8 years or older). There are also children's beach hikes and scavenger hunts to give parents a break while they relax and enjoy the spa or just some quiet time. The restaurant on-site serves all meals and has pretty yummy food. But do bring your own food to supplement, it can get pricey eating every meal there. This site is relatively close to Santa Cruz and makes a fun overnight stop on the way to the Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk.

Highlights: The on-site restaurant is nice so you can get a good sized meal in sometime throughout the day. For people uncomfortable with tents but who want to camp the tent/ cabins offer just the right amount of nature compared to comfort feeling. But the best part is that there are bathrooms with showers! My least favorite part of really roughing it camping is having to cop a squat in the bushes when nobody is looking, or that icky feeling you have from being outdoors for two days and not showering- problem solved here!

Tips: Bring lots of layers and covers if you are pitching your own tent, the field gets very windy and cold at night- even in the summer! Bring your own bike and kid's bikes. Even if you don't go much past the campsite there are fun little paths to ride with your little one around the cabin area.
