Description: The Conservatory of Flowers is a magical place that features many rooms filled with sprawling flower and fauna landscapes. Each room is differently landscaped with a variety of plant life. Many of the rooms feature water ponds, pool, small waterfalls, and reflections. You feel like you are being whisked away to a magical jungle of forest or something when inside. We got the chance to visit for the Butterflies and Bloom exhibit which was really cool. My kids got to see butterflies up close and personal in the butterfly sanctuary room. There were so many colorful winged butterflies fluttering around the room landing on plants and peoples jackets. My youngest was totally enchanted by this experience. My older one spent a significant amount of time learning about the butterfly life cycle and watching some hatch from their puppas. The whole conservatory was really beautiful overall and the staff very friendly.

Highlights: The conservatory is located in Golden Gate Park making it easy to go from one destination to the next. We spent as much time as we could with two kids in the Conservatory then just walked over to Koret Children's playground where we played, swung, and slid some more.

Tips: The conservatory is FREE every first Tuesday if you can make it during a week day.
